At Lighthouse City Church, our beliefs are grounded in the Word of God and centered on Jesus Christ. These biblical truths shape how we live, how we love, how we lead, and how we serve our city. They bring clarity to our faith, unity to our church, and direction as we help people encounter Jesus, grow in faith, discover their purpose, and shine their light.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for our faith and daily lives. Written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Scripture is true, trustworthy, and relevant for every generation.2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 30:5
We believe in one eternal God who created and rules over all things. He has revealed Himself as three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each is fully God, yet together they are one.Genesis 1:1, 26–27; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for our sins, and rose bodily from the grave. He ascended into Heaven and will return again in power and glory.Matthew 1:22–23; John 1:1–5, 14; Acts 1:9–11; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and is actively at work in the world today. He draws people to Jesus, lives within every believer, reveals spiritual truth, produces godly character, gives spiritual gifts, and empowers us to live and serve according to God’s purpose.John 14:16–17; John 16:7–13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Galatians 5:22–25
We believe every person is created in the image of God, possesses inherent value, and is deeply loved by Him. However, sin has separated humanity from God, and every person needs the forgiveness and restoration made available through Jesus Christ.Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3–6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23
We believe salvation is God’s gift of grace and cannot be earned through good works or personal effort. Forgiveness and eternal life are received by turning from sin and placing our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.John 3:16; John 14:6; Romans 10:9–10; Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all who place their faith in Jesus. The local church exists to worship God, make disciples, build community, care for people, and share the hope of Jesus with the world.Matthew 16:18; Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 4:11–13
We believe water baptism is a public declaration of a believer’s faith in Jesus and identification with His death, burial, and resurrection. We believe communion is a sacred remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice and a celebration of the new covenant He established for us.Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–4; Luke 22:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
We believe following Jesus is a lifelong journey of transformation. Through Scripture, prayer, worship, discipleship, and Christian community, believers grow in faith, develop Christlike character, discover their God-given gifts, and use them to serve others.Romans 12:1–2; Ephesians 2:10; Ephesians 4:15–16; Philippians 1:6; 1 Peter 4:10
We believe every person was created to exist eternally. Those who receive salvation through Jesus Christ will spend eternity with God, while those who reject Him will experience eternal separation from God. Heaven and hell are real, and our eternal destiny is determined by our response to Jesus.John 3:16–18; John 14:1–3; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21:1–4
We believe God created humanity in His image as male and female. We believe marriage is a sacred covenant established by God between one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy is designed for marriage. We also believe every human life is sacred and worthy of dignity, love, and protection from conception to natural death. We are committed to holding biblical truth while treating every person with compassion, honor, and respect.Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:24; Psalm 139:13–16; Matthew 19:4–6; Hebrews 13:4; Ephesians 4:15
